Roy Clay Sr

Born 1929

Academic Events -Graduating from St. Louis University in 1951 being one of the first African Americans to do so he majored in mathematics.

Accomplishments in Computer Science-Clay created his first computer program calcuating the spread of radiation following an atomic explosion. Clay founded ROD-L Electronics in 1977, which allowed technology to prevent computers that were created in the earlier years from catching on fire. According to the Silicon Valley Engineering Council Hall of Fame, in 1966, Clay guided the team which they created HP's groundbreaking computer 2116A . Additionaly he advocated for equality in his community becoming the first African-American on the "Palo Alto, Calif., City Council in 1973.''
